WeldMesh™

The Product

Weldmesh™ is electrically welded wire mesh that is supplied in a range of sizes and finishes, these are bright, galvanised, heavy galvanised and powder coated wires. These meshes are produced by Smorgon Steel Reinforcing to stringent quality assured standards and the company has accreditation to AS3902.

Applications

• Weldmesh™ is primarily used for strata control in roofs and ribs of mines.


• Weldmesh™ is used to protect personnel and equipment and support the roofs of roadways and tunnels used to service the mine.


• Weldmesh™ is generally placed in position on the roof and walls of mines using rock bolts and proprietary fixing systems.
• Weldmesh™ is also used in conjunction with W Straps, whereby a sheet of mesh is fixed separately or welded to the strap. Smorgon Steel Reinforcing also supply modules which combine the strap and loose rock retention mesh.


• The installation of Weldmesh™ and rock bolts can be undertaken either manually or with hydraulic or fully automated bolting machines.


• Weldmesh™ is widely used in both coal and metalliferous mines.
